Dear Families,
Welcome to Tuesday, September 29th!!! This is the day we’ve all been waiting for! Yippee!
I am so excited to meet everyone and start our in class learning together. To help make our first day back a successful one, I want to share some important information and reminders with you.
Community Chest Dress Casual Day:
Our first day back is a special one, it’s “Community Chest Dress Casual Day”! Students are encouraged to participate by bringing in a $20 donation and dressing in their favorite casual clothes. 4B students will have PE on this day so proper footwear must be worn. Remember, the House that raises the most money will get extra house points! Woo-Hoo!!
Daily Temperature Checks:
The school doors will be opened at 7:50am. Students will line up outside the school and then proceed into the school auditorium. Here, they will get their temperature checked before heading up to my classroom. Please remember to take your child’s temperature before leaving for school each morning. Students were given a yellow temperature check form in their consumables bag. This must be taken every day and students must bring this form with them to school everyday. As well, all parents must fill out the Student Declaration Form for Campus Resumption. Students who have not filled out this form will not be allowed to attend classes on Tuesday, September 29th. I’ve added the form here just in case you’ve missed this email: https://forms.gle/bALpRnUT1r9q9ZTP7
Getting to My Classroom:
Our classroom is located on the 4th floor of the Elementary Section (Room 404). I have shared a Google Slides called, “Where is Ms Murchison?” to your child’s Gmail account. We will review this on Monday during live lessons but you could also have your child show it to you over the weekend.
Lunch Time Expectations:
Grade 4 students will have lunch at 11:55pm -12:20pm. Students will not eat lunch in our classroom. Instead, they will go to a Dining Hall on the 2nd floor. Following health and safety measures, 4B students will be eating lunch together in this room. I will take students to and from the Dining Hall each day until they get used to this routine. Students should bring a mask case/holder/baggie, personal hand sanitizer, tissue, and extra masks with them to lunch.
These items should be included in their lunch box. This should help with the organization and ease of lunch time.
***Please remember, snacks can not be eaten during morning and afternoon recess. Students can only eat at lunch time. As well, please bring extra water to school. Water dispensers are not available at this time.***
Face Masks:
All students, teachers and other members of the school community will be required to wear a face mask on campus. Students may remove their masks while eating and drinking. They must be properly and safely stored at lunch time. (see above). Students must not wear an N95 mask, scarf or bandana as a face covering. Masks must be disposable and must not have a built in vent.
Additional Class Items to Bring:
Students must have a pencil case with their own pencil, eraser, glue stick, scissors and colored pencils. It would be great if these items could be labelled.
Dismissal:
Grade 4 Students will be dismissed at 3:10pm. Students will make their way to the front entrance of the school for pick up by a parent or guardian. I will take Bus Students to the courtyard and help them find their bus line up. A “Rainy Day Bus Dismissal” is also in place and bus students will be shown where to find their bus mothers at designated locations inside the school on rainy days.
I hope this information has been helpful. Please feel free to contact me with any further questions you may have. My email address is: [email protected].
I am so excited to meet everyone in person very soon! Have a great weekend!
Gratefully,
Ms Murchison

Homework
The day’s homework will be written in the Google Classroom titled, "4B's Homework and Communication!" Important notices that pertain to all students in the class will also be posted on this site. Parents, if you would like to write me a note you may send one to school with your child OR you may email me at [email protected]. I check my email in the morning and at the end of the day. Please check that your child has completed all of his or her work on a daily basis. If for some reason your child is unable to finish the assigned homework, please write a note explaining why. This will be accepted.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at the school or by email ([email protected]). I look forward to meeting you soon.
